That the September 8, 2025 Race Relations Committee Meeting Agenda be adopted.

1. That the Race Relations Committee is committed to ensuring that all individuals in Markham can move through all lived and shared spaces free from fear; and, 2. That the safety, dignity, and well-being are not privileges earned, but rights that every resident must be guaranteed; and, 3. That the Race Relations Committee does not condone racism and any act of hate; and, 4. That the Race Relations Committee calls on our residents to reject all acts of hate wherever it appears; and, 5. That the Race Relations Committee does not condone acts of anti-Muslim hate and those which were displayed at the event that took place in the event in Newmarket on September 1 have an impact on all members of the community; and further, 6. Be it resolved that the Race Relations Committee publicly denounces the hate crime committed against members of the Muslim community in Newmarket on September 1st, 2025, and does not condone racism in our City and communities; and further, 7. Be it resolved that the Race Relations Committee has initiated a call to action to the community to reject all acts of hate.
