Whereas Milne Dam Conservation Area (Milne Park) is an integral part of the interconnected system of pathways and trails under the implementation of the Town's Pathways and Trails Master Plan; and Whereas the project to construct a multi-use pathway in Milne Park would be funded in part through the Provincial Municipal Infrastructure Investment Initiative Grant provided to the Town to help advance the development of the multi-use pathway network; and Whereas pathways and trails are a vital part of the Town's Active Transportation network which reduces road congestion, air pollution and fuel consumption while promoting good health through exercise; Therefore Be It Resolved that the Members of the Town of Markham's Cycling and Pedestrian Advisory Committee support the construction, as soon as possible, of a multi-use pathway in Milne Park as part of the Town's multi-use pathway network.
